The Role

As the APS6 Audio Visual (AV) and Australian Defence College Weston (ADC-W) Site Technology Manager within the Defence Learning Technologies (DLT) team you will report to the Assistant Director Business Operations DLT. Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Management and sustainment of AV and site ICT services. Services must meet the requirements of the academic program for the Australian War College (AWC) and associated short courses, VIP and international engagement activities.
  • Stakeholder management and business administration including managing funding, resources, and ensuring the systems you are responsible for are managed and maintained in accordance with Departmental procedures and processes.
  • ICT responsibilities will involve the management and sustainment of non-corporate ICT systems that enable academic course delivery, both existing and future.
  • Project definition, initiation and oversight to upgrades of AV and ICT systems.
  • Liaison with Defence Digital Group to coordinate the support and delivery of services and technologies for the ADC Weston site.

You will develop and manage a high performing team that provides the site technology services and engage with a variety of stakeholders to provide the required outcomes needed for the continual functioning of the ADC and AWC programs. Your skills in service delivery, stakeholder management, and technical knowledge are all needed to provide high functioning, outcome based services.

Our team (Defence Learning Technology) is located within the Defence Education, Learning and Training Authority (DELTA), which works within the Australian Defence College. DELTA works to Commander of the Australian Defence College to set the strategic direction, provide higher-level policy, governance and oversight of the Education and Training Domain for all Defence: Navy, Army, Air Force, and the Australian Public Service.

The Defence Learning Technology team is an integrated workforce of military personnel, Australian Public Service officers and supporting contractors.

The AV segment within DLT supports ADC-W in leading Defence in efficient and innovative approaches to learning delivery and technology for both ADF and international staff and students.

You will monitor the latest developments in AV technology/trends and consider potential application in the ADC-W environment. Experience coordinating ICT/AV projects, service delivery and stakeholder management will be valuable in this position. Being self-driven, reliable, with an ability to manage competing priorities to a high standard of accuracy within allocated timeframes will be essential attributes.
