As we continue to deliver a strong program in 2022, Adelaide Festival Centre is looking for technical theatre professionals to join its Sound Department. 

Reporting to the Head of Department – Sound, these positions are responsible for provision and operation of equipment and support for performances in our venues. These services include live operating, reinforcement and amplification, fold back operating, radio microphone and spectrum management, basic video and all backstage and foyer communications. 

Responsibilities

  • Technical support to AFC performances and events offering venue sound design and studio engineering products. 
  • General maintenance and repair and installations to all associated equipment.
  • Leading and managing Sound bump ins and outs, rehearsals and performances of shows and events.
  • Coordinating and participating in the rehearsal and performance of technical scene changes and cues.
  • Leading and managing crew ensuring all policies and procedures around employee entitlements and WHS and Risk are always adhered to.
  • Liaise with client and others to ensure requirements are met and where appropriate provide solutions.

Competencies and Skills

  • Significant experience in Sound in a live performance and/or theatrical environment
  • Contemporary education, skills, knowledge and experience in Sound equipment, design, operation and delivery
  • Ability to consult, collaborate and effectively communicate and provide advice to a broad range of people in a range of contexts.
  • Sound interpersonal and communicational skills with the ability to build and maintain professional working relationships.
  • A commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service.
