Videocraft is a leading provider of professional video and broadcast television production equipment as well as live production and post-production systems.  Due to continued growth we require the immediate services of a keen and experienced video and broadcasting equipment Technician to join our Rentals team.

Commencing as a Rentals Technician initially, the position is primed to take on more responsibility and leadership as you integrate and embed yourself into the role.

About the Role

Varied and dynamic. You’ll be answering customer enquiries, advising on equipment choices, quoting and taking bookings, preparing and checking a wide range of broadcast and cinema video gear and systems, testing new ideas, and more. Maybe you’re out doing a delivery or on a production job providing tech support. Some days may be quieter but this is a dynamic environment and it can get busy quickly. You’ll probably need to provide some technical support to a customer and you will certainly be preparing rentals documentation and ensuring 100% accuracy is maintained at all times.

In time, we expect that you will be overseeing the Sydney rental operations, acting as the first escalation point and providing day-to-day leadership for our Sydney team, coordinating equipment maintenance, and supporting the National Rentals Manager, ensuring the efficient functioning of our rental services.

This is a full-time role based from our Sydney office in Artarmon.

About You

We are seeking a pro-active, responsible, motivated person with a drive, aptitude and willingness to expand your knowledge and skills in a dynamic project driven environment.

The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in film and TV production technology, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex equipment setups while also focusing on customer interactions and following up project leads.

  • genuine interest and understanding in technology and the curiosity to know more
  • proven ability in customer facing roles – a hands-on role in rentals or operational environment in the video production industry or with a technology retailer would be a great advantage
  • fitness and enthusiasm along with a desire to succeed
  • ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • technical aptitude and solid computer skills
  • attention to detail is essential in every aspect of this role
  • strong organisational and prioritising skills
  • current driving licence
