The role of Senior AV Technician is an integral part of the Majestix Media Team. Primarily, the role involves installation, integration, support and maintenance of audio visual equipment to the highest standard, across Majestix Media’s customer base.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • AV equipment installation.
  • Systems integration.
  • Site visits, fault finding, maintenance and reporting.
  • Video Conference setup and support.
  • Client & office communication.
  • Automation & Control programming.
  • Tidy installation’s to high standards.
  • Understanding of project requirements and documentation.
  • Implementing designs
  • Maintaining and updating job documentation.
  • Lead and train team members

Skills and experience

  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in Audio Visual Installation (or similar trade) is essential. Other senior qualified trades considered such as Electrical, Security or Data Cablers encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply logical, methodical, analytical approach to isolate and solve complicated hardware/software problems autonomously – Essential.
  • Ability to read plans and implement provided materials to complete a job autonomously.
  • Proven experience/training with design implementation or programming utilising major audio-visual equipment manufacturers. Crestron experience is desirable, experience/training with other manufacturers will be considered i.e. AMX, Extron etc.
  • Dynalite programming and integration experience – Desirable.
  • Audio DSP (QSC, Biamp, Bose, Crestron etc) – Desirable.
  • Video Conferencing Implementation and networking issues (Cisco, Polycom, Zoom, Teams etc).
  • Ability to lead and train Technicians.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Being accurate and timely with company reporting and paperwork.
  • Preparation and terminating of all types of AV cabling.
  • Ability to balance test and setup a coaxial RF network.
  • Ability to setup and install a structured cabling network.
  • High level of understanding of current AV products and trends.
  • Experience in pre project planning and supplying sales team with technical input.
  • Scope and accurately order consumables to complete installation, with project budget in mind.
  • Correspondence with customers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated Safe work health practices.
  • Ability to plan and successfully install cabling routes.
  • Ability to identify any issues on site that need addressing.
  • Tradesman level of experience with all tools.
  • Advanced networking knowledge, skillset and ability to utilise a PC for system diagnosis.
  • Intermediate to advanced programming skills – if this is the line of specialty that the Technician has taken.
  • Soldering.

Qualifications & Licenses

  • Cabling tickets – Essential, minimum Open Cablers License.
  • Unrestricted manual drivers license, with safe driver history.
  • Current police check.
  • High Risk Licence.

    • WHS
  • Telecommunications certificate – Desirable.
  • Crestron Certification – Desirable.
  • Certificates in audio and visual distribution.
  • Polycom/Cisco certification.
  • Dynalite certification – Desirable.
