Trainee Technician – Audio Visual and Theatrical

Macrosphere is seeking a Traniee Installation Technician, for Audio Visual and Theatrical for our projects centred around school multi-purpose halls and performing arts complexes. 

We are based in Clontarf, Qld but our work is throughout the state. We are expanding our work force in house for the support for our current installation team and growing number of projects.

Our extensive portfolio of installations includes live theatre, performing arts centres, local council venues and educational facilities.

Role Overview:

• We are currently looking for a Trainee Installation Technician to join our installation team and be provided a range of skills and formal qualification courses. 
• We are seeking someone that is comfortable and able to travel throughout Queensland including to regional and remote towns on a regular basis for 2 – 3 weeks at a time. 
• The position will teach you over a period of time a combination of technical development, installations, fault finding, reporting, and client communication skills.
• We will provide on-going professional development and training along with all tools needed to carry out the role.

Essential Experience / Qualifications 

• Be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or long term visa
• Trade / Power Tool knowledge
• Have a valid manual Australian Drivers License

What you will learn / Qualifications you will obtain:

• Learn to be proficient Computer Skills including use of apps, portals, and MS programs.
• Learn to perform comprehensive, onsite audio-visual equipment installation for our clients, equipment rack setup, LED/LCD, projectors and projection systems, smart boards, audio hardware and speakers, control systems.
• Learn to perform cable installations in an efficient and optimum manner based on drawings and onsite conditions including crimping and terminate audio and video cables.
• Learn to install Industry standard equipment such as Crestron and Kramer control systems.
• Gain experience with installation of displays, screens, and projector.
• Key courses to be undertaken during learning period available to the trainee:
  • Enrollment in a Rigging Ticket 
  • Enrollment in a Scaffolding Ticket 
  • Enrollment in a Working at Heights Course
  • Enrollment in a Data & Telecommunication Course
