Just another day at Norwest

Rumors of his demise are just that. Steve Knight is today on the job at Norwest, directing production at Hillsong Conference – Australia’s largest gig. After a July 1 restructure that saw Steve, a founder of Cairellie – the production firm acquired by Norwest 12 months ago – assume a new title, the misinformation has reached a crescendo.

Norwest group GM Matt Jones told CX that Steve’s position, as Sydney GM, was now obsolete. With one Australian GM in Graeme Whitehouse, the group doesn’t need a Sydney specific manager now that its merger with Cairellie in that city is bedded down. Steve Knight is now the head of Innovation and Technology, charged with rolling out the ‘one stop shop’ model nationally.

‘It’s a slight change in title’, Matt said. ‘This is a founder reliant business.’
