Chameleon sponsor ENTECH Happy Hour

Happy hour at ENTECH ROADSHOW is always fun, and now this 90 minute hour (4.30pm until 6pm) is sponsored nationally by the happy guys at Chameleon Touring Systems.

Chameleon Touring Systems rent lights and do productions across Australia and Asia. They are the largest lighting production firm in the region, occupying a large site in Sydney with hard stand and loading docks for more than a dozen semis at a time. They have a full satellite operation in Brisbane, and extensive collaborations across the production industry all over the region.

Chameleon has been providing touring production for Australian and International acts for many years. From pubs and clubs, to Arena’s and up to Stadiums as well as many festivals, tours include Spandau Ballet, Robbie Williams, Christina Aguilera, Coldplay, Keith Urban, Fleetwood Mac, Pearl Jam, The Killers, The Kings of Leon, Eric Clapton, Duran Duran, John Mayer, Motley Crue, Them Crooked Vultures, Cliff Richard, Cold Chisel, The Gorillaz, Miley Cyrus, Enrique Iglesias and The Eagles.

The heart and soul of any production company, they have been providing a driveway hire service since the beginning. Community and church groups, small theatres, disco’s, other production companies, Television studios, Gaffers, pubs and clubs, new bands, old bands, very old bands, even kids with a dream are all regular clients, and always welcome.

Likewise their corporate events department is constantly busy. Lighting everything from product launches, gala dinners, awards nights, conferences, fundraisers and so much more for many various clients. The large scale events card has aways been full. They supplied Lighting systems and people for events such as the Sydney Olympics (2000) Melbourne Commonwealth games(2006) Rugby World Cup (2003) World Youth Day (2008) The list goes on……

Since Starlight Express hit our shores in 1987 Chameleon has been very busy with its Theatre. They have prepped and supplied systems across 4 continents for numerous productions of Les’ Miserables, Fiddler on the roof, Miss Saigon, Cats, The Lion King, Spam-a-lot, Priscilla-Queen of the Desert, Billy Elliot, Mamma Mia, Rent, We Will Rock You, Mary Poppins and Doctor Zhivago, to name but a few. They regularly work with designers and provide systems for Productions by the Sydney Dance Company, Bell Shakespeare, Opera Australia, Sydney Theatre Company and countless other artistic organisations both in Australia and around the world.

They have been providing vast amounts of equipment and expertise to the the film and television industry in Australia for over 20 years. When Hollywood came to town in the mid 90’s they provided large scale dimmer, lighting and power distribution systems for features like The Matrix, Mission Impossible, Moulin Rouge, Babe and Superman.

Television studio and location work has been consistent in Australia and abroad with many seasons of Australian Idol, Big Brother, X Factor, So You Think You can Dance, Gladiators, Survivor, the ARIA and ARIA Hall of Fame awards, The Voice, Young Talent Time etc on our credits list. In recent years they have invested considerably in Arri studio equipment for television hires and they are constantly talking to Gaffers and Lighting Directors about new projects, new products and sometimes difficult lighting effects.

Finally, they have a metalwork manufacturing facility at Chameleon where they are often contracted to make custom trussing, Light-pods, set pieces, staging, lamp dolly’s, soft ladders and many other useful lighting tools. For example they have a vast range of weather protection equipment that has been manufactured in-house for protecting their inventory.
