Jam, perform, record, share with the new ZEDS from Allen&Heath

Allen & Heath has added three mini mixers to its acclaimed ZED analogue range.  ZED-6, ZED-6FX and ZEDi-8 are designed with the flexible features and professional build quality required by musicians, recording artists and AV production, in a compact, portable format.

“Whether it’s bouncing ideas around at home, performing live or recording tracks to share on YouTube or Soundcloud, these mixers are versatile companions for every step of the creative journey,” commented Allen & Heath product specialist, Harry Garcia.

All three new models feature 2 mono channels with separate XLR and TRS jack sockets and 2 stereo channels. The mono channels include DI high impedance circuitry for the jack sockets, allowing guitars to be plugged straight into the mixer without the hassle and expense of carrying separate DI boxes.

Additionally, the ZED-6FX includes a new FX system encompassing multi-FX models, combining reverbs, delays, doublers, chorusing, and other modulators to create a dynamic and varied suite of studio quality sound effects.

The ZEDi-8 offers the addition of a 24bit 96kHz 2×2 USB interface, providing recording and playback to a Mac or PC or to an iOS device (using a Camera Connection Kit).  ZEDi-8 is bundled with Cubase LE music production software and the Cubasis mobile music production app.

The GSPre preamp design, developed from the GS-R24 professional studio console, gives the mini ZEDs a very clean with exceptionally low noise and high headroom making them ideal for recording.

Styled with a moulded chassis and metal front panel the new models feature 2-band EQ, 60mm smooth travel master mix faders, channel monitoring and 48V phantom power.  Unique in this type of product is the individual channel PCB construction with nutted pots and a robust internal power supply for extended life in the toughest environments.

Due for release in November 2015 the new ZEDs will retail at: ZED-6 at $269, ZED-6FX at $369 and ZEDi-8 at $359.
