ABOUT THE POSITION:

The primary responsibility of the Casual Technician – is to assist the Digital Multimedia Systems team with projects and basic maintenance of exhibition spaces.

Some of the key duties include: 

• Installation and operational maintenance of Museums Victoria’s forward facing AV. 
• Assist with the ongoing maintenance of multimedia, interactives, screens, projectors and control devices and undertake minor repairs.
• Ensure that any risks and incidents are reported in the appropriate manner.
• Carry out administrative tasks in line with departmental procedures and requirements to support all works including:
  • Record keeping
  • Time keeping
  • Maintenance documents

The successful applicant will have:

• Experience installing/ demounting multimedia exhibition display systems in a museum or similar public environment
• Demonstrated skills and experience in one or more of these fields: projection, interactive touchscreens, computer networking to control multimedia.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including Technicians, Exhibition Managers etc.
• Proficiency in the use of a range of hand and power tools.
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks in a timely and effective manner
• Demonstrated ability in problem solving and attention to detail

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a casual role, the salary on offer is $34.51 per hour + 11% superannuation.
