Behind The Scenes has been supplying and installing professional lighting, audio-visual, staging and curtain equipment for over 35 years. 

We need a versatile, motivated individual with the skills and experience to install and service a range of equipment and systems. You would be part of a small team that provides permanent installation solutions for a wide client base that includes educational institutions, theatres, entertainment venues and commercial sites. 

This is the ideal position for someone looking to be part of a well-established business that offers permanency, work/life balance and long-term opportunities.

Duties Include

  • Assembly and installation of a range of equipment. 
  • Working at height.
  • Interpreting plans, measuring on site and coordinating site installations.
  • Facilitating timely movement of equipment and materials to and from sites.
  • Preparing equipment, loading and unloading installation materials, machinery and tools according to project plans and specifications.

About You 

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Experience working with industry–related technologies and equipment — professional audio, AV, lighting, staging and curtains. We don’t expect that you will be across all that we deal with, just a willingness to learn. 
  • Either a trade or rigging background and/or experience in a similar capacity with the ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Good visual, spatial and mathematical skills. 
  • Proficient IT skills 
  • Strong ability to fault find and solve problems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills and capacity to collaborate with team members, clients, suppliers, and others to create effective solutions for a range of venues.
  • A current manual driver’s licence and industry white card. Scaffolding, rigging and other work at heights certificates are desirable. 
  • Initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement.
