About the role
As Production & Events Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of CheerCon events. You’ll work closely with Directors, Operations Manager and the wider team, taking ownership of the many moving parts required to deliver professional, large-scale events. A major part of this role is event staffing — you’ll determine staffing requirements, build event teams and rosters, communicate roles and expectations, and ensure the right people are in the right places throughout each event.
Key responsibilities

Manage multiple large-scale events simultaneously, each at different stages of planning and production

Develop and manage complete event timelines, critical paths and production schedules

Create detailed event plans, run sheets, floor plans, schedules and operational documents

Coordinate venues and maintain communication with venue management

Plan event layouts, competition areas, warm-up areas, merchandise, registration, awards and other operational spaces

Coordinate production requirements including staging, audio visual, lighting, equipment, signage and event infrastructure

Manage suppliers, contractors and external service providers; obtain quotes, coordinate bookings and monitor expenditure against budgets

Identify staffing requirements, recruit and coordinate casual/event staff, create staff allocations and detailed event rosters

Communicate event information, call times, responsibilities and expectations to staff; coordinate staff travel and accommodation

Lead staff briefings, manage the event team onsite, coordinate bump-in and setup, manage live event operations and troubleshoot issues
About you

Experience managing or producing large-scale events

Demonstrated experience taking events from initial planning through to onsite delivery and post-event review

Strong experience managing event staff, contractors and suppliers

Excellent project and time management skills

Ability to manage multiple events and competing deadlines simultaneously

Strong budgeting and cost-management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Confidence leading teams and holding people accountable to deadlines

Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm and make quick decisions when things change onsite

Proactive approach, strong computer and administration skills, and willingness to travel interstate regularly for events
