About Event AV Services
At Event AV Services (EAVS), we believe our people are the heart of our business. We have built a reputation not just for technical delivery, but for being a true partner to our clients.
We don’t chase every one-off gig; we focus on building lasting relationships. This approach has secured us long-term contracts with some of Canberra’s most iconic institutions, including Venues, Sporting Organisations, and Cultural Entities. Our clients trust us year after year because we invest in the team that supports them
The Role
As a Senior AV Technician, you aren’t just an operator; you are an ambassador for the company. We are looking for someone who values communication and reliability just as much as technical skill.
Australian work authorisation is required at the time of application.
What you will be doing:
-
Building Partnerships: You will be the friendly face on-site for our long-standing clients, ensuring their events run smoothly and they feel supported from bump-in to pack-down.
-
Mentoring the Team: We have a collaborative culture where knowledge is shared, not guarded. You will help guide and mentor our junior crew, fostering a positive environment where everyone learns and improves together.
-
Delivering Quality: Whether it’s a gala dinner or a high-level government briefing, you will ensure the audio, vision, and lighting are delivered to the high standards our repeat clients expect.
-
Problem Solving: You will be the calm influence in the room, troubleshooting technical issues with a focus on finding the best solution for the client, not just the most technical one.
Why Join EAVS?
We know the events industry can be demanding, which is why we are committed to doing things differently.
-
Genuine Work-Life Balance: We understand that burnout is real in this industry. We prioritize sustainable rostering and flexible hours to ensure you have time for life outside of work.
-
Flexible Scheduling: Regular evening and weekend work is required for this role to support client events and operational needs.
-
Stability & Security: With a massive portfolio of permanent contracts and repeat annual events we offer job security that is rare in the events world.
-
A Team That Cares: We are a family-owned business vibe with professional standards. We look out for each other on the job and celebrate our successes as a team.
About You
You are an all-rounder with a specialist edge in Audio, Lighting or Vision. You stay calm when the “On Air” light turns red.
-
Experience: 5+ years in the industry. You know the difference between a gala dinner and a rock gig, and you can handle both.
-
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of Switching and VC is essential. Proficiency with Lighting or Networking is a huge plus.
-
Standards: You take pride in your work. You understand that a neat cable run isn’t just about looks—it’s about safety and reliability.
-
Certifications: A White Card, EWP license, Rigger’s ticket, or Heavy Vehicle license will be highly regarded.
