Shure Introduces Microflex (MX) Wireless

Shure launched their latest offering in wireless microphone systems at the recent InfoComm trade show in Orlando FL. Microflex Wireless is a digital wireless system operating in the licence free 1.9GHz band designed specifically for corporate boardrooms, lecture theatres and teleconference systems.

Microflex wireless (MX wireless to its friends) is the perfect choice for corporate boardrooms, conference centres, and Teleconference and video conference systems. It features true high quality digital audio transmission and supports military grade AES-256 bit encryption to ensure security of transmitted content. All components feature networked monitoring and control plus Dante digital audio delivery to ensure compatibility with corporate IP network infrastructure.

Microflex wireless operates in the license free 1.9GHz band which means it’s free of “digital dividend” frequency coordination issues associated with broadcast band devices and is capable of supporting up to forty transmitters per room.

There are seven main components in the family. Systems can be assembled using combinations of these to best meet the required application:

MXW1 Hybrid Body pack Transmitter

–              Supports either external lavaliere style microphone via industry standard TA4 connector, OR internal omnidirectional microphone enabling the transmitter to be used stand-alone.

MXW6 Boundary Transmitter

–              Available in Omnidirectional or cardioid coverage patterns.

MXW8 Gooseneck Base Transmitter

–              Accepts standard 5”, 10” or 15” Microflex series gooseneck microphones.

–              Wide variety of polar patters and LED indicator options available.

–              Rechargeable Li-ion batteries.

–              Audible out of range alert.

–              Programmable mute button.

MXWAPT4 / MXWAPT8 Access Point Transceivers

–              Low profile wall / ceiling mounted transceiver (receivers) . Provides bi-directional audio and control to MXW series transmitters.

–              Available in four channel (MXWAPT4) or eight channel (AXWAPT8) versions.

–              Direct Ethernet connection via Cat5e cable.

–              POE powered.

–              Dante Digital Audio output for direct connection to Dante equipped receivers such as Shure SC820 or MXWANI4 / MXWANI8

–              Network control & monitoring via web based GUI.

MXWANI4 / MXWANI8 Audio Network Interface

–              Dante D2A interface for connection to analogue audio inputs and outputs. Not required if direct connections to Dante devices utilised.

–              Available in four channel (MXWANI4) or eight channel (MXWANI8) versions.

–              Four port gigabit switch for connection to MXWAPT4/MXWAPT8 transceivers.

–              Front panel control; mute, solo etc.

–              Headphone output for test and monitoring.

MXWNCS4 / MXWNCS8 Networked Charging Station

–              Docking charging station suits all versions of MXW transmitters.

–              Available in four port (MXWNCS4) or eight port (MXWNCS8) versions.

–              Transmitters can be recharges without removing the batteries.

–              Full network based remote monitoring of connected devices.

–              Rapid charge time; 50% of charge in one hour.
