About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as our Lecturer – Music (Music Production). This is a casual opportunity based at our Nelson (Box Hill) Campus. This position reports directly to the Academic Course Manager (Music Production Audio and Composition, and sits within the Music & Creative Industries area of the Faculty of Higher Education.

 

You will have advanced knowledge in Music Production to deliver high quality education to students studying in the Bachelor of Music Industry. The position also requires the successful applicant to develop, maintain and manage teaching resources on our student learning management system.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Provide high quality and innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to students
  • Support student success in their courses and thereby improve their employment and/or educational pathways
  • Ensure BHI compliance requirements are met, and quality education is delivered to students

 

About you:

  • Advanced knowledge such as: Music DAW (e.g. Ableton and Logic), recording software/hardware, synthesis, DJing, performing with technology, remixing, mixing and production techniques, and recording studio work processes.
  • Victorian Working with Children Check clearance
  • National Police Check clearance

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • A postgraduate qualification relevant to the Box Hill Institute Music Industry undergraduate programs.
  • AQF 5 or higher teaching qualification including a supervised teaching practice is preferred.
  • Teaching experiences preferred and a passion for sharing knowledge and experience is essential
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the faculty.
  • Ability to design and deliver logical, succinct, up-to-date and engaging course materials and lessons.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for students
  • Ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including unit plans and assessment tools
