About the Opportunity

This role combines strong technical expertise with people leadership. You will lead, mentor, and support a team of five permanent staff and a pool of casual technicians, fostering a positive, high-performing team culture while providing technical oversight and hands-on expertise across audio, lighting, vision, staging, and production systems.

The HEART is one of Western Australia’s leading regional performing arts venues, and this role plays a central part in maintaining its reputation for professional technical delivery. The Technical & Production Manager is a key leadership role within the operational structure of Nala Bardip Mia – Margaret River HEART, employed by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River. This role ensures that every event, from community workshops to major touring productions, is delivered safely and to the highest technical standard.

Nala Bardip Mia – the HEART is Our Story House. We are looking for someone who understands what that means — not just as a name, but as a responsibility. This is a venue that belongs to its community, and we are seeking a Technical & Production Manager who will lead with that understanding.

The right person will be technically exceptional and genuinely passionate about the craft of live production. They will also be a leader who enhances the performance of those around them, notices when a team member is struggling, creates space for growth, and builds a culture where everyone feels they belong. As the HEART continues to strengthen its team and deepen its connection to the community it serves, this is a genuinely exciting time to join. If that sounds like you, we would love to talk.
