Based in Melbourne, we provide cutting-edge technical production services for a diverse range of clients and events, and we’re looking for a skilled technician to help drive our success forward.

About the Role:

As a Senior AV Technician at NEXTGEN, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality technical solutions across various events. Your experience with digital audio consoles, lighting and high-end vision switching will be vital in ensuring seamless event execution. Your ability to manage complex technical setups and lead a team is what we truly value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full delivery of events, ensuring all technical aspects run smoothly.
  • Lead the delivery and operation of AV for events, from pre-production through to pack-down.
  • Supervise the prep, loading, setup, operation, and de-prep processes.
  • Collaborate with directors and other key stakeholders to meet technical requirements and achieve exceptional outcomes.
  • Manage event crews during setup, operation, and bump-out to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Work closely with the warehouse manager to ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Supervise and train crew members on AV equipment and best practices.
  • Maintain brand consistency by delivering events to the highest technical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementing solutions to enhance business operations.
  • Communicate directly with clients at a senior level to address concerns, resolve issues, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Attend site inspections and meetings with clients as needed.

Who We’re Looking For:

We need a motivated, professional, and experienced individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels under pressure. You’ll work with some of the industry’s top-tier equipment and have the opportunity to grow your skills and knowledge.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the audio-visual events industry, ideally in a senior technician role.
  • Proficiency with digital audio consoles, vision switchers, cameras and IT systems.
  • Knowledge of basic and intelligent lighting and programming is highly regarded.
  • Ability to lead a team and collaborate effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and impeccable customer service.
  • Professional demeanour and highly presentable, especially in corporate environments.
  • Flexibility with work hours and a “can-do” attitude.
  • A desire to continue learning and developing new technical skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is required; EWP (Elevated Work Platform) certification is a plus.
