We’re Select Audio Visual, we’re not a giant corporate machine.

We’re a tight crew of AV professionals who genuinely care about delivering great work, looking after our people, cherishing our client relationships and keeping a smile on the dial at all times.

Right now we’ve got a full-time position for an AV Venue Tech, providing critical daily support to the AV Event Services Manager.

The role is based on-site at one of our Brisbane hotel partners, a venue with a busy events calendar, and a team who actually appreciates and delivers consistently excellent AV outcomes.

Working hand in glove with the ESM, you’ll own the role, and you’ll also own the room, as the position carries a large degree of autonomy.

You’ll be monitoring pending events with the ESM via the booking software. This will prove to be your road map for what lies ahead when it comes to setting events, meeting clients, sometimes operating an event, and working very closely with the venue F&B team regarding room availability, orientation etc.

If something goes sideways at 7am before a 200-pax breakfast event, you’re the one who sorts it, calmly, quickly, always with a smile and a spring in your step!

What’s in a day?

  • Being across installed AV systems, including lighting, audio, vision and rigging

  • Working closely with the ESM, always staying in front of the events calendar to ensure rooms are set and struck at the appropriate times.

  • Operate AV equipment on events from time to time.

  • Meeting with clients daily, remaining available during show to provide assistance

  • Ensuring the AV storage space is kept operational and neat at all times.

  • Being the go-to for the venue’s events team, they’ll love you for it

  • Keeping gear dialed in and speaking up when something needs attention

You’d be a great fit if:

  • You are really good with gear, but even better with people

  • You’ve got 1–2 years of corporate AV experience under your belt, and you genuinely love what you do!

  • Motivated and disciplined to work autonomously and efficiently, while at the same time not to proud to ask questions, or ask for help

  • Your attitude remains solid even if the day isn’t going to plan

  • Presentation – Guys, this is so important. I love festivals too, but this is a corporate environment and we need to present accordingly

Our guarantee to you:

It’s a full time position with full time support, mentorship and ongoing training.

At Select Audio Visual we have a ton of experience amongst the ranks across all disciplines, and we love to share it, empowering all of our team mates on their journey.

We value attitude above all else, and will always be available to hear you, consult with you, and to ensure both personal and professional development.

Great fun, great gigs, great people amounts to great results for clients and partners alike.

If this sounds like your jam, let’s chat now, as we’re super keen to keep the ball rolling!
