We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as Head of Audio, Video & Systems Technician for our theatre.
What You Will Do:
As Head of Audio, Video & Systems Technician, you will lead and coordinate all technical production activities for events at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC), Munro Martin Parklands (MMP), and other Cultural Services venues. This is a hands-on role where you will lead a talented team, collaborating with directors, designers, and technicians to bring creative concepts to life.
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of sound and video production, from equipment selection and setup to ensuring flawless execution during performances. Your expertise will be critical in enhancing the audience’s experience and supporting the artistic vision of each production.
What We’re Looking For:

Possession of a Rigger’s Certification (or ability to obtain).
-
Certificate III in live Production and Services (or ability to obtain).

Certificate IV in live Production and Technical Services (or ability to obtain).
-
Current Queensland LR Class Drivers Licence (or ability to obtain).
-
Current First Aid and CPR (or ability to obtain).
-
Elevated work platform (EWP) > 11 metres (or ability to obtain).
-
A minimum of five years’ experience working at a multi stage arts centre or for a production or theatre company.

A high level of operational competency in technical theatre, specialising in audio and video systems.

Demonstrated high level supervisory skills, including a demonstrated track record of events delivery and thorough knowledge of supervisory responsibilities under Work Health and Safety.
