About the Role

The IT Audio Visual Officer is responsible for scoping and delivering audio visual solutions for schools and the central office. The IT Audio Visual Officer will be gathering requirements, providing advice, and working with third party integrators to deliver standards based solutions for classrooms, multi-purpose halls, public address systems and digital signage. The IT Audio Visual Officer will be maintaining proficiency with audio visual technologies to ensure high quality and value solutions enable excellent digital pedagogy.

The IT Audio Visual Officer will also play a critical role in facilitating training for educators and administrative staff in the effective use of audiovisual technology for improved communication and teaching.

Major Accountabilities

The IT AV Officer is required to perform tasks that include but are not limited to:

  • scoping and delivering AV Solutions for schools and the central office that support modern digital pedagogy
  • gathering requirements to understand and compile user needs to ensure solutions align with requirements for teachers, staff and students
  • providing advice and consultation on AV technologies helping users make informed decisions about equipment being suited to their needs
  • liaising with Third Parties ensuring they comprehend the needs of the organisation and deliver solutions that adhere to SCS Standards
  • obtaining quotations on hardware, assets and software as required through SCS approved suppliers and validating against the minimum audio visual specification
  • maintaining proficiency and staying up to date on the latest AV technologies applicable to the education sector
  • supporting staff on the effective use of AV technologies including tier 2 evaluation and escalation of AV incidents raised by school based IT Staff
  • articipating in the deployment of various AV/ICT projects, driven by each school’s strategic plan
  • contributing to the assessment of the school network and the production of reports/recommendations
  • meeting Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets in accordance with the role
  • following ITIL practices for complete Incidents and Service Requests, Change Requests and Knowledge Management
  • AV/ICT asset management -including the planning and implementation of asset decommissioning and replacement.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • post secondary and/or relevant industry certification, e.g. Avixa CTS
  • demonstrated audio visual technology and project experience within the education sector
  • proven understanding of ITIL v3/4 Foundation framework
  • demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • demonstrated ability to negotiate positively and handle problem resolution activities proactively
  • high-level relationship building skills targeted at ensuring teamwork and customer service
  • flexibility, initiative and responsiveness in managing workflow with an ability to prioritise competing tasks
  • proven strong administrative skills to coordinate and manage a range of tasks
  • high-level organisational skills with the ability to be flexible in a complex environment
  • demonstrated ability to respond to sensitive issues and maintain customer confidence
  • proven experience with, or openness to engaging with emerging technologies
  • demonstrated ability to work autonomously or with minimum supervision and effectively within a team
  • proven knowledge of Audio Visual principles and practices
  • a current driver’s licence
  • a valid Working With Children Check clearance (WWC)
  • comprehensively Insured vehicle.

Desirable

  • ITIL Version 3 or 4 Intermediate level certificate
  • post secondary qualifications in AV and/or IT
  • ss a Baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community such as a parish or an established community within the Catholic Church, as an expression of their relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • demonstrated experience in customer facing AV/ICT support with the ability to troubleshoot AV network infrastructure environments
  • proficiency and understanding of communications between computer systems and AV hardware across layers of the OSI Model
  • exceptional communication and relationship-building skills and customer service excellence
  • flexibility and initiative in managing workflow with an ability to prioritise competing tasks
  • the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a larger team
  • a current driver’s licence and daily access to a car
  • willingness to respect, support, and uphold the mission, ethos, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of SCS.
