Council’s Cultural Precinct is an evolving hub of artistic, cultural, performing arts, events (civic, corporate and community) and entertainment activities. To deliver these activities in a safe and engaging way, a multi-skilled technical and production service is required across Council’s events and entertainment venues i.e. Arts and Function Centre, Museum.

The Role

The Technical Operations Coordinator leads a small team of Technicians to deliver outstanding theatre entertainment and event production services to our community and clients. The role is customer focused, drawing on a high level of skills and experience as a technical operator and a formidable aptitude for, and comprehensive understanding of sound engineering, lighting, and lighting design, audio, and audio-visual systems and staging equipment.

You will have the ability to work as part of a team to deliver technical services of the highest possible standard.

You will be a leader who is engaging with exceptional communication, planning and client service skills.

You will have a proven aptitude and interest in technical matters, particularly pertaining to a performing arts and/or convention centre.

You will work collaboratively across a wide range of stakeholder groups; your communication skills will be exceptional, and you will share your technical expertise with internal and external stakeholders.   

You will be flexible with your time and thrive in a busy and ever-changing environment.

Please note;

This position can involve working outside of normal hours to support performances and events in the evenings and at weekends.
