Your Future Position as a Project Manager/Technical Director
The P.A. People are currently seeking applications from experienced project managers/technical directors to join our dynamic events team in Sydney. The Project Manager/Technical Director is pivotal in both day-to-day and strategic management, coordinating and delivering customer event requirements. This role ensures the successful management and delivery of selected customer projects, providing high-end technical and event expertise from inception to final delivery. Responsibilities include supervising technicians in the delivery, installation, operation, and removal of event communications equipment for shows of varying size and complexity.
About the Role
In this role your key day to day responsibilities will be (but not limited to):
- Event Specifications: Creating event designs based on customer requirements.
- Event Scheduling: Developing and maintaining event schedules, estimating labour, equipment, and transport requirements.
- Crew Allocation: Allocating crew.
- On-Site Event Management: Communicating show briefs to venues, crew and suppliers.
- Issue Resolution: Following up on any event issues.
- Team Development: Overseeing the technical development and cross-utilisation of team members through training and mentoring.
- Technical Work: Carrying out on-site technician work, including deployment and delivery of networked CCTV, RF, audio, and comms systems for events.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with and promoting health and safety requirements for individual events.
- Job Bookings: Creating job bookings in Current-RMS and tracking inventory.
- Post-Event Reports: Receiving and monitoring post-event reports, documenting changes for future events and continuous improvement.

About You
While specific requirements may vary, a successful Project Manager/Technical Director should have, as a minimum, the following experience, knowledge and skills.
- 5+ years’ experience with complex technical systems (audio preferred).
- Experience delivering client focussed solutions to customers’ needs.
- Proven supervisory and leadership skills (3+ years minimum)
- Experience in specifying and designing pro audio and communication systems technology.
- Proven ability to project manage live events in high pressure environments to tight deadlines.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Current drivers licence – manual preferred
- Excellent planning, organisational, and project management skills.
- Experience with current RMS software or similar.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, delivering to agreed outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to negotiate and communicate (in writing and verbally) with all levels of stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Have an initiative-taking approach, adaptable and positive approach.
