Rental Manager

About the Role:

We’re looking for an ambitious and switched-on Rental Manager to take ownership of our high-end lighting inventory.

This isn’t a “keep the wheels turning” role. We’re after someone clever and proactive who wants the Manager title, wants to make an impact, and is excited to grow with a fast-moving, entrepreneurial company.

You’ll run the full rental cycle — from helping clients with technical solutions to managing inventory, logistics, and quality control. You’ll have real autonomy, your ideas will be listened to, and you’ll work closely with an energetic owner who is hands-on and genuinely invested in the team’s success.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage our lighting inventory using rental software (Current RMS), keeping everything organised, accurate, and maximising utilisation.
• Work directly with clients on technical specifications, offering smart solutions and alternatives that help their projects succeed.
• Prepare quotes, contracts, and sub-rental agreements, and keep on top of the commercial side of rentals.
• Oversee the prep, testing, and quality control of lighting, consoles, and rigging gear before it goes out and when it comes back.
• Lead the warehouse team during load-ins and load-outs, maintaining high standards and safety.
• Analyse rental trends and help shape our inventory mix to keep us competitive and efficient.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re after someone ambitious who wants to build their career, not just do a job. You don’t need to know everything, but you need to be sharp, curious, and quick to learn and adapt.

Ideally you’ll have:

• Solid knowledge of professional lighting (movers, LED fixtures, consoles, and networking)
• Experience with rental or inventory management software (Current RMS is a bonus)
• At least 3 years’ experience in a rental warehouse, production company, or similar environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm when things move fast
• Excellent communication skills — you’re comfortable dealing with clients and leading a team
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency
