Broadcast / AV Engineer
Professional Audio & Television (PAT) is a leading provider of broadcast, media, and professional AV solutions across Australia and New Zealand. We work with the industry’s most respected technology partners and deliver end-to-end solutions for broadcasters, production companies, venues, and corporate clients.
We are currently seeking an experienced Broadcast / AV Engineer to join our Sydney-based team in Hornsby (Sydney Northshore).
About the Role
This is a hands-on technical role focused on the design, setup, configuration, commissioning, and support of professional broadcast and AV systems. You will work across a range of projects, from broadcast and live production environments through to fixed AV installations.
Range: $95,000 – $130,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
· Installation, configuration, and commissioning of broadcast and AV systems
· Setup and operation of audio, video, and control systems
· Technical service & support, fault finding, customer support and troubleshooting
· Assisting with system design, documentation, and testing
· On-site and remote support for customers as required
· Working closely with project managers, sales engineers, and clients
· Ensuring systems are delivered to specification, on time, and to a high standard
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a broadcast and/or professional AV engineering role
· Strong practical knowledge of audio and visual signal paths and system integration
· Competence in the setup, configuration, and operation of professional AV and broadcast equipment
· A solid understanding of control systems (e.g. LAWO VSM, Densitron IDS, Ross Video Dashboard or similar platforms)
· It is ESSENTIAL that you have experience with IP-based workflows and networking fundamentals
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Good communication skills and a professional approach when working with clients
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
· A current Australian driver’s licence
· The ability to do national and international travel as required
