About Playbill Venues:
Playbill Venues is the venue management company responsible for managing “The Hordern Pavilion”, Sydney’s iconic entertainment, cultural and live music venue. The organisation is focussed on delivering exceptional customer experiences through a diverse and evolving range of events.
Role Purpose:
The Event Manager is directly responsible for effective planning, co-ordinating and management of venue resources ensuring successful delivery of the event and stakeholder outcomes.
Permanent position (1 FTE), based on 38 hours a week. Weekend and public holidays work will be required.

Essential Skills and Experience

Experience coordinating / managing events

Ability to work autonomously and pro-actively to support the Playbill Venues Teams

Ability to prioritise and project manage multiple tasks

Proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, industry, government and private sector contacts, contractors, and professionals

Ability to remain calm and focussed under pressure

Intermediate digital and software capabilities
-
Current Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification (RSA) or capability to complete training to acquire accreditation as a nominated manager
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Client and Customer Focus

Demonstrate a good understanding of the hiring clients’ business

Manage client relationships & ensure expectations are met &/or exceeded

Demonstrate a good understanding of customer expectations as part of the venue event experience
-
Manage and direct all venue services during events to maintain a customer first approach towards all venue patrons
-
Manage customer incidents under pressure and ensure relevant services or processes enacted for optimal customer care
-
Ensure the Responsible Service of Alcohol and documented compliance processes are met at all times
-
Direct first aid response provider and event management of public safety services
Event Planning
-
Identify event service provider needs for events and negotiate additional services that deliver the best outcome for all stakeholders
-
Work with event suppliers and manage efficiently the costs associated with these services
-
Follow event procedures and ensure all documentation is in place before events proceed

Display a good working knowledge of WHS within the event industry and understanding of its importance in all areas of operation

Manage financial administration for your allocated events

Able to deliver to inflexible event deadlines

High prioritisation capabilities and ability to manage multiple tasks at one time

Drive efficiencies with intermediate digital software capabilities and continuous adoption of new technologies

Administrative capabilities to ensure documentation and compliance is met and recorded to the necessary standards
