Technical Sales/Project Consultant – Audio Visual & Theatre Solutions

Bring your AV expertise and production know-how into a client-focused role

Do you have a strong background in audio-visual system design, theatre production, or live event technical operations? Are you ready to use your industry knowledge to design creative solutions, build long-term client relationships, and be part of a trusted name in the AV industry?

For over 30 years, we’ve been supplying and installing professional lighting, audio-visual, staging and curtain systems across theatres, schools, entertainment venues, and commercial sites. We’re now looking for a Technical Sales Consultant who thrives on turning technical expertise into practical, client-focused solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and propose AV and performance space solutions – from system layouts and product recommendations to detailed project quotes and proposals.

  • Conduct site visits – assess requirements, measure spaces, and create tailored technical solutions.

  • Build and maintain relationships – work with existing clients while developing new opportunities through trust and expertise (no cold calling).

  • Collaborate with stakeholders – liaise with clients, suppliers, builders and venue managers to deliver effective solutions.

  • Lead projects – from planning through to installation, training and client handover.

  • Support clients – provide technical support and follow-up training to ensure long-term success.

  • $75,000 – $85,000 per year

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in theatre, live production, or commercial AV system design.

  • Strong understanding of professional audio, lighting, video and control systems (knowledge of Q-Sys, Crestron or AMX is highly regarded).

  • Ability to read and interpret plans, conduct site measurements, and create integrated solutions.

  • Excellent quoting, proposal writing and documentation skills.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM systems is an advantage.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to clients and colleagues.

  • Organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

  • A passion for theatre, events, and the “behind the scenes” magic that makes them possible.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a well-established, industry-respected company.

  • Work in a small, collaborative team where your expertise is valued.

  • Enjoy a permanent role with stability, work-life balance, and opportunities to grow.

  • Competitive salary package, with training and ongoing development provided.

If you’re looking for a role that combines your technical skills, creative problem-solving, and client relationship building, we’d love to hear from you.
